The family service of Kiel University advises and supports families, coordinates existing projects and develops new concepts in order to create family-friendly framework conditions.

The Future Ocean
The Cluster of Excellence supports its personnel and members in many concerns regarding reconcilability of work and family. This includes:
- Child care during Cluster events and meetings
- Support for business trips
- Arrangements for work contracts with the Cluster in case of pregnancy and/or parental leave and/or family members in need of care
- Support at work, for example in laboratories or not being able to work due to pregnancy
In principle the Cluster supports all measures that are offered by the DFG (German Research Foundation) in DFG financed projects, if legally possible.
