Projects

Marine invasive species have globally increasing biological and economic impacts. However, evolutionary mechanisms favoring range expansion and invasiveness remain poorly understood. During my post doc project at GEOMAR I will investigate the environmental envelope of the comb jelly Mnemiopsis leidyi, and conduct adaptive evolution experiments. The key question will be if the invasive comb jelly Mnemiopsis leidyi might be enable to adapt to current physiological constraints which limit its distribution range.
