Future Ocean Dialogue: Let’s go Brazil!

For Kiel’s marine sciences, Brazil is of special interest not only because of the World Cup this summer. At the end of the German-Brazilian Year of Science, the international traveling exhibition “Future Ocean Dialogue”, developed by the Cluster of Excellence and the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, is touring through Brazil.

The exhibition project was initiated on invitation by the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. The modular exhibition, which was developed in Kiel and can be easily transported, is one of the highlights at the end of the German-Brazilian Year of Science 2013-2014 and was organized together with the Brazilian project partner, the German House of Research and Innovation (DWIH) in São Paulo as well as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The aim of the traveling exhibition is to convey knowledge about current issues in marine science with its interdisciplinary approaches to solutions and, simultaneously, to advertize the research locations Germany and Kiel. Target groups are the interested public, school and university students, as well as decision-makers from politics, business and science.

A special online presence was created for the “Future Ocean Dialogue” in order to give people the chance to experience the exhibition even if they do not have the possibility to see to the modules live.
