23. October 2013 Gerhard Fouquet receives honorary doctorate from Dalhousie University



Dalhousie University (DAL) in Halifax, Canada bestowed upon Kiel University President Professor Gerhard Fouquet (left) a great honor. On the occasion of the inauguration of the new DAL president Dr. Richard Florizone (right), the Historian from Kiel was awarded the honorary doctorate Doctor of Law (honoris causa) at a conference on international university performance in Canada.

 

The reason for the honor: Fouquet is a man with “outstanding expertise and abilities who, with his leadership skills, has significantly influenced the excellence initiatives of Kiel University.” In this regard Fouquet has emphasized encouraging academic innovation. As president, Fouquet has decisively sharpened the focus of Kiel University on top performance and thus established partnerships with similar international universities such as Dalhousie University.
