9th Kiel Marketplace – Bionic

The 9th Kiel Marketplace took place on February 6th 2013. This event, organized by the Cluster of Excellence The Future Ocean together with the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany, has now established itself as a platform for knowledge transfer and networking between science, industry, politics and organizations.

Due to a growing industrial, technical and societal dynamic, companies face an increasing pressure to be innovative. Globalization is continuing and central challenges such as the protection of the environment and the climate or resource shortages must be overcome. New technologies that can create innovative products efficiently and in a resource friendly way, are urgently needed. Bionic and material technology are promising technological fields for the future that can offer solutions to these challenges.

At the 9th Kiel Marketplace innovative results and applications from bionic were presented to nearly 50 participants.
