12. June 2014 Watch, Experiment and be Amazed

Summer school for pupils in the ocean:lab of the “Kieler Forschungswerkstatt”

From 11th to 17th August, the “Kieler Forschungswerkstatt” offers a marine scientific summer school for all pupils that will begin the 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the next school year.

On five days, from 9:00 to 14:00, the young scientists will focus on the topics “Ocean” and “Energy”. Exciting expeditions are planned, for example to the sea bath Holtenau for sample collection and to the laboratories of the “Kieler Forschungswerkstatt” for experiments.

Interested pupils can research scientific issues to their heart’s content: How is the food web in the Baltic interconnected? Which modern fuels exist? How can energy be stored? How does a porpoise hear under water? What is a plastic vortex? This is only a selection of research questions that can be studied in the ocean:lab of the “Kieler Forschungswerkstatt”.

Registration deadline for the summer school: July 7th, 2014.
